How to Record Music to MP3 Player
BY MITCHELL WHITE, DEMAND MEDIA

Once you buy an MP3, you'll need to record your songs to your MP3 player before you can listen to it on the device. You can use the iTunes program to accomplish this for iPod, other players may have another program, but many MP3 players will have a simple drag-and-drop interface.
Step 1
Insert the CD that came with your MP3 player to install any necessary drivers or software. You should be immediately prompted on your screen to begin installation after inserting the CD. In some cases your MP3 player may not come with a CD because it is designed to be recognized by your computer as a removable drive when it's plugged in.
Step 2
Plug the USB cable that came with your MP3 player into your computer and into the side of your MP3 player.
Step 3
Click on the "Start" menu in windows. Click "My computer" in XP or "Computer" in Vista/7. You should see your MP3 player as one of the options there, possibly labeled as "Removable drive." Double-click it.
Step 4
Open the folder marked "Music." This is where your MP3 files need to be placed. If there are no folders, then songs may be placed directly in the removable drive.
Step 5
Locate the MP3 files on your computer. Click on the "Start" menu again and select "My Music" for a good place to start if you aren't sure where your music is located. Click and drag your MP3 files over the music folder for your MP3 player that you opened earlier. A bar will appear showing the progress of the copying process. When it's done, your music will be all recorded and ready to go.
